What girl doesn’t love a big bow? I’m definitely a big fan of bows so when I saw these J. Crew Poplin Tie Waist Shorts I was immediately in love. The best part is that these shorts are now on sale at Nordstrom for $41.70. I paired the shorts with an old abstract patterned top from LOFT similar (here and here). There’s something about wearing an off-the-shoulder that make me feel so feminine. It’s one of my favorite things to wear in the summer. Add a chic statement bag and bold lip and you’re looking so fresh! I found this off-the-shoulder for a great price at Nordstrom, also check out this one too. The LV bag in this post is quite spendy but if you’re in the market for an less expensive “investment bag” then check out this gorgeous Prada red leather bag and this Gucci one.
This weekend was the first in Seattle that it was warm enough for tanks and shorts! It actually ended up getting a bit too hot for me, I mean going from 70 degrees to 90… a bit to drastic but hey it was warm and sunny so I’ll take it. The weather did give me a chance to style a new top that I found for a steal at Nordstrom Rack. This yellow square cami by Melrose and Market has a bit of a boho feel with it’s frayed hem and I could see this going well with a lot of different types of looks. I added this with a pair of pale pink shorts that I bought at Old Navy several years ago (similar versions here and here) and finished off the look with this pair of Soludos lace up ankle-wrap espadrille sandals. Oh my goodness! We got back from China last week and Seattle seems to have finally started its transformation into summer. Flowers are blooming and many days have hit 70 degrees. It makes me so happy to feel like the gloom might just go away really soon. For today’s post, we ventured not too far away from our house to the Rose Garden near the Woodland Park Zo0. I can’t believe that I’ve lived in Seattle for 5 years now and never visited the garden. It was absolutely perfect! All the flowers were blooming and the roses smelled so sweet. I wish we had brought a blanket and spent the afternoon there (next time!). Today’s outfit is a relatively simple one, but sometimes those are my favorite. You may have seen the striped skirt I’m wearing in a previous post when we went to the tulip festival. No joke it is from Forever 21 at least 6 years ago (one of few pieces that somehow have survived many closet purges). The blouse is also one that has been featured on the blog in several different stylings (see here and here). It’s just so comfy that I cannot help but restyle it over and over. Shop this blouse over at Aritzia here. I’ve also linked below to several other white blouse and striped skirt options.
T-minus one week until we are in China for two and half weeks! I’ll also be trading in my spring outfits for full on summer attire, ready for the absurd heat and humidity that is currently in motion in Asia. I’ve been complaining that I’m tired of jeans and long sleeves but I’m also not sure I’m ready for the heat in China. Today, though, let’s talk about the outfit in play in this post. I want to first start off with the denim, these high-waisted jeans were found for a steal from the Gap and I’m loving the fit! I raved about high-waisted denim when I bought a pair of Levi’s Wedgie Jeans (read more about them here) but this pair is coming in at a very close second and you just can’t beat the sale price at $41.99! In preparation for the heat in China I also recently bought this easy-breezy floral keyhole top from Nordstrom (also check out this one too). Since it’s still a bit too chilly to run around outside in just a tank I added a favorite white blazer of mine on top (similar here and here).
