Oh my goodness! We got back from China last week and Seattle seems to have finally started its transformation into summer. Flowers are blooming and many days have hit 70 degrees. It makes me so happy to feel like the gloom might just go away really soon. For today’s post, we ventured not too far away from our house to the Rose Garden near the Woodland Park Zo0. I can’t believe that I’ve lived in Seattle for 5 years now and never visited the garden. It was absolutely perfect! All the flowers were blooming and the roses smelled so sweet. I wish we had brought a blanket and spent the afternoon there (next time!). Today’s outfit is a relatively simple one, but sometimes those are my favorite. You may have seen the striped skirt I’m wearing in a previous post when we went to the tulip festival. No joke it is from Forever 21 at least 6 years ago (one of few pieces that somehow have survived many closet purges). The blouse is also one that has been featured on the blog in several different stylings (see here and here). It’s just so comfy that I cannot help but restyle it over and over. Shop this blouse over at Aritzia here. I’ve also linked below to several other white blouse and striped skirt options.
T-minus one week until we are in China for two and half weeks! I’ll also be trading in my spring outfits for full on summer attire, ready for the absurd heat and humidity that is currently in motion in Asia. I’ve been complaining that I’m tired of jeans and long sleeves but I’m also not sure I’m ready for the heat in China. Today, though, let’s talk about the outfit in play in this post. I want to first start off with the denim, these high-waisted jeans were found for a steal from the Gap and I’m loving the fit! I raved about high-waisted denim when I bought a pair of Levi’s Wedgie Jeans (read more about them here) but this pair is coming in at a very close second and you just can’t beat the sale price at $41.99! In preparation for the heat in China I also recently bought this easy-breezy floral keyhole top from Nordstrom (also check out this one too). Since it’s still a bit too chilly to run around outside in just a tank I added a favorite white blazer of mine on top (similar here and here).
Last week I received an early birthday present from my mom and sister, this beautiful blush pink Michael Kors trench coat. I’ve been wanting to add a pink trench to my outerwear collection to make my spring outfits more versatile. I think its safe to say you’ll be seeing a lot more of this jacket this season. This one was found at TJ Maxx but I’m also loving this one from Asos and this one from French Connection. In my opinion, the blush pink trench is a definite must-have for any outfit this spring. See more of my favorite picks below.
I was so excited to finally break out a spring maxi dress last weekend when we had a lovely sunny day here. This is one that was a hand-me-down from my mom (similar here and here) as it was too long of a dress for her so lucky me being tall enough for it to fit perfectly! In addition to the pretty floral prints I also am loving the key hole, which gives it a little some extra. Since it was still a bit chilly out I paired this dress with a lightweight blazer which was also featured here paired high-waisted denim. Adding a blazer (check out this one) on top of this creates a nice office-chic look. I’ve rounded up a few other of my favorite floral maxi dresses below, happy shopping!
Now that it’s officially spring I decided it is time break out the off-the-shoulder blouse. I’ve had this one which I found at LOFT’s end of summer sale last season but haven’t had nice enough weather to wear it until now. Luckily this weekend provided two sunny days to break up all the recent rain. If you go to almost any fashion blog you’ll see the off-the-shoulder blouse is definitely having a big moment. Mine from LOFT is sold out now but I’ve found several similar options here, here and here – all of which I really love. Keep reading below to see more from this look.
