This season I’ve been gravitating towards hues of burgundy, rose and blush in my clothing selections. These warm tones are becoming a favorite of mine and pairing this color palette together gives a gorgeous combination to create a fall-ready outfit. You may have seen my burgundy coat last worn here. This coat has become one of my favorites to wear this season as the drape and color gives off a regal vibe. I also recently discovered my sweater from J.Crew for under $100. It is from their Point Sur collection (similar here), one that I’d never heard of until I saw this sweater. This sweater is a blend of merino wool, alpaca and nylon and is so extremely soft! My pants are from Uniqlo (color brown, but looks much more of a dusty pink in person). These pants are currently on sale and warning, they are crazy comfortable!
I love fall but sometimes fall in Seattle means mostly rain and soggy piles of leaves. Luckily, we’ve had a mixture of rain and sun over the past few weeks, allowing time to take in all the changing colors while they are still on the trees. This past weekend, I went on a hunt to find the perfect fall foliage backdrops for this post. In addition to getting the perfect fall leaves shot I’d also been looking for a big holly or winter berry bush to start bringing the seasonal vibe to my photos. Just in our little neighborhood we were able to find both! Keep scrolling to see the rest!
Plaid Girlfriend Blazer. That’s what I’ve been on the hunt for this season, but until today I had not found the perfect one for me. Don’t get me wrong, there are tons of options out there but a lot that I liked were pushing close to the $200 price tag and I wasn’t really convinced of the quality to price ratio on many. So when I stumbled upon this one from GAP I was immediately drawn to it.
Transitional seasons make it difficult to know what type of outerwear you might need on a given day. This is why I’ve rounded up my picks for the best jackets for fall 2018. These are must-haves for my wardrobe when the temperatures are a bit more unpredictable and I need options to pick from to ensure I’m not too hot or cold.
Achieving an effortless style is something many of us aspire to but may not know where to start. Looking like you just randomly threw a few things on, while still looking put together is not as hard as it seems when you have the right tools in your closet. Below are five tips to help guide you.
Invest in quality, classic pieces
Quality pieces almost instantly make you look more put together. When you pair that with classic pieces you get something that won’t be out of style next season and lasts longer as well. Some of my favorite staple classics are a white button down, well-fitted jeans, a wool sweater, a black and patterned blazer, a cashmere scarf, and a pair of loafers.
Be picky when it comes to trends
As tempting as it might be to chase every fun trend, and effortless style means having a signature style. Trends are fleeting and if you want to start developing a personal style that looks effortless, avoiding trying every trend. Maybe you want to try out the leopard print trend, if so, instead of buying a pair of leopard print pants that might be off-trend come next year buy a leopard print scarf that is a more chic and longer-lasting option.
