Podcasts Every Entrepreneur Should Listen to in 2018

Over the past year, I’ve really gotten into podcasts. It all started when I switched jobs and started to drive versus bus to work again… with the hell that Seattle rush hour traffic has become, I had a bit of time on my hands. It all started with the very late discovery of the Serial podcast – which I was completely captivated by and about four years late to the party on. I recently discovered the world of inspiring entrepreneurial podcasts. Now my 45 min to hour long commute is filled with listening and learning from other founders in a multitude of businesses on how they found their niche and the ups and downs they’ve experiences along the way. Here are a few of my regular go-to’s. Enjoy!

Second Life by My Domaine: Who What Wear and MyDomaine co-founder Hillary Kerr, interviews inspiring women entrepreneurs who have made big career changes at all ages. A few of my favorite interviews include Jessica Alba, Influencer and Summer Fridays founder Marianna Hewitt and Mandy Moore.

The Glossy Podcast by Glossy: This is a is a weekly show by Glossy discussing the impact of technology on the fashion and luxury industries with the people making change happen. If you’re interested in the business and creative sides of fashion and entrepreneurship this is a must listen to. Just a sampling of who has been interviewed includes the founders of Bonobos, AYR and  M. Gemi.

WorkParty: So this hasn’t officially launched yet, but its a brand new podcast hosted by Create & Cultivate founder Jaclyn Johnson. This podcast is about tackling the reality of being a modern business women and will features interviews with entrepreneurial women to celebrate each others successes. A trailer introducing what’s to come is currently available to listen to.

How I Built This by NPR: Host Guy Raz dives into the stories behind some of the world’s best known companies. How I Built This weaves a narrative journey about innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists—and the movements they built. Just a few of the many great guest that have been on this podcast included founders of DryBar, Lululemon, Warby Parker and Stitch Fix.

Loose Threads: This podcast explores the new consumer economy. Each episode features an in-depth conversation with one guest that spans a range of topics. The unifying thread is always the rapid change facing the consumer, retail and commerce industry and how entrepreneurs are responding. One of the reasons I love listening to this one is because it highlights entrepreneurs from companies and brands I’ve never heard of before – many of them only a few years old.
