Boyfriend Watches

Boyfriend jeans, shorts, and tee’s have all had their moment in women’s fashion over the past few years. What about the boyfriend watch? Women’s watch faces have increased in size year over year, seeming to mimic that of men’s watches. My issue is that many of these watches are so painfully stereotypical with bedazzled bezels or flowers on the watch face, which is not my style when it comes to a watch. I think a watch is a great way to make statement in any outfit but how can you really do it?

I stole (borrowed) my husband’s Tissot automatic watch for today’s post. Obviously the bracelet was a little to large for my wrist but he wouldn’t let me take out any of the links so I just had to go with it! This watch is definitely more masculine but also bears a bit more weight an substance than the cheap minimalist quartz watches available today. As a woman, there’s something empowering by wearing a watch with unique complications. Maybe it’s the mechanics and intricacies of an automatic movement or the weight of the watch that makes it feel more dominate than dainty feminine watches. Nevertheless, I encourage you to play around accessories that add an edge or boldness to your look. You never know what you might discover.
